Home Care Program for Physically Disabled :

This project basically presents medical, psychological, and advisory services , additionally to offering assistive devices to physically disabled people and their families , particularly to those of hard cases such as paraplegia and quadriplegia undergoing bedsores, spasm, and other health problems . The program serves disabled  people of both genders and all ages. Conducting home visits is  the responsibility of dedicated medical  and psychological teams comprising a physician, a nurse, a physiotherapist , a psychologist, and a socialist. Introducing medical and psychological services to the disabled people is associated with training the families on the principles of home care needed for their disabled independents. The center offers its diverse  services to the disabled people in all Gaza governorates.            

 

Vocational Training Program

 The NCCR has a workshop of manual crafts such as drawing on glass and pottery, embroidery , and other crafts. The workshop targets the disabled people of both genders hopping to train and rehabilitate them vocationally in particular those disabled who previously received medical and psychological rehabilitation from the medical teams . The program aims at creating job opportunities for the beneficiaries through marketing their products on exhibitions that leads to integrate them into the community . Therefore, it could alleviate psychological and social loads assigned on them and their families.

 

Hearing Screening Program for Kindergarten Children :

The project is based on performing hearing screenings on kindergarten children ranging 3-5 years old from all Gaza governorates. Children detected at the center's audio-clinic as having hearing problems or otitis are observed by E.N.T physicians. The program is directed by a dedicated auditory team, It is noteworthy that around 12% of the children suffer from different problems on the middle-ear, particularly recurring otitis which can cause deafness if  inappropriately observed. As a   precautionary procedure, hearing screenings are associated with awareness lectures for mothers on the significance of early  detection  of the ear problems and how to prevent their incidence.     

 

 Language  & Speech Therapy Program: 

The project presents language /speech therapy services to the children suffering form speech problems, especially those who are not recognized in schools , so they receive their education at the center whereas they are taught the fundamentals of reading and writing together with speech sessions. Likewise, the center introduces services to schools students of speech problems .The program is directed by a highly qualified specialists in speech/language therapy. Cases are subject to an initial evaluation  requisite for processing feasible  plans of therapy.    

 

Sexual Rehabilitation and Urinary Tracts Program:

sexual rehabilitation and urinary tracts clinic  at the center mainly targets  the disabled and needy people in the community . This clinic is regarded the first in the Gaza strip which is concerned with  sexually  rehabilitating the disabled people forthcoming to marriage, aspiring to integrating them into the community. The clinic aims at securing psychological, medical, and social rehabilitation for the disabled people. The clinic is administered by a dedicated team of physicians, psychologists, and nurses. More over, the clinic offers guidance to the disabled spouses regarding all problems they may face and how to prevent them .

 

Community Awareness Program:

This program extends community awareness and education to all segments of the community, specifically women about problems of the disabled people, reasons behind disability, preventing its occurrence, and the ways of early detection of disability. Such topics are deliberated through awareness seminars and guide leaflets conducted and issued by the center. Over and above, the center constantly holds training courses about  the means of early detection, the ways of dealing with disabled children, the sign language , and other relevant notions. Furthermore, the program educate the disabled people's  wives about problems of the disabled, and how to deal with them along with educating the disabled people about their rights and duties . The center mainly concentrates on the marginalized  and low awareness areas .    

 

Al-Safwa Magazine Program:

Al-Safwa magazine is a cultural, rehabilitative, sporting magazine  specialized in  the disabled people's affairs and issued temporarily every three month. The Magazine is considered the first national one that addresses the suffering and issues of disabled  people, and concerns with displaying the innovations of the disabled people. Issuing this magazine, the NCCR looks forward to contributing at ameliorating the Palestinian  society's perspective to the disabled person, and educating the society about problems of the disabled people and the reasons behind disability. Importantly, the magazine is interested in covering ceremonies and activities of the disabled along with  acquainting the audience to programs of different civil organizations in Palestine.  

 

Audio –clinic :

The center has an  Audio-clinic that is  well-equipped of the most advanced devices, conducting the following screenings:

  - Normal screening from 5 years and above

- Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) evaluation .

The clinic is directed by a specialized team whereas the beneficiary is observed after fitting his/her suitable hearing aid for six months. Furthermore, the clinic presents fitting hearing aids for hearing impaired people, and rehabilitating them while the children's hearing problems are early detected that eases their rehabilitating and intergrading them into the community.   

 

Deaf Education Program:

This program extends educational, didactic and health services to the deaf children ranging 3-5 years and their families through special rooms at the center under the supervision of a highly qualified teachers, approaching the comprehensive system of communication which depends on teaching via sign  and vocal language . Consequently, the child acquires information through different ways making advantage of his/her hearing aid to develop the vocal language hopping to achieve fruitful communication with the community . The program also keeps in touch with the families through indulging them in sign language courses and activating their role in setting activates needed for their independents.        

 

Mobile Clinic:

The center has a mobile medical unit particularized for conducting hearing screenings of ear and presenting medical services to the disabled and needy people in the marginalized and frontiers where people are unable to attain medical and rehabilitative  centers. The unit is also used when holding medical days in all Gaza governorates.
