:::NCCR Meets Physically Disabled in Gaza:::

NCCR held a meeting on "Date" with physically disabled people in Gaza who receive medical, psycho-socio and rehabilitative services by medical teams of the Home Care Program at the National Center for Community Rehabilitation.

The meeting took place at the Center's headquarter discussed main issues and problems that the disabled face under the current circumstances. A special focus was shed upon the hardships and needs of the recently disabled and their families in the attendance of 120 physically disabled. 

Mr. Khalid Abu Zaid, Chairman of the NCCR, started by welcoming the attendees and congratulating them for the coming of Holy Ramadan. He affirmed that the NCCR work from a humanitarian ideology with all the disabled needing help without looking at their political backgrounds. He wished the two wings of Palestine to be united and the infighting to be stopped, because it results new disabilities in addition to those resulted from the occupation. 

Families of the disabled raised many issues and problems for discussion like shortage in the aiding equipments, diapers and medical materials. The families also discussed the suspension of their allocations  paid by the Ministry of Social Affairs, and they asked the Center's administration to intensify the home visits and provide them with the needed aiding equipments and medical materials.

The disabled suggested forming a committee of the disabled and their families to follow up their needs and issues and meet monthly in the Center, and they suggested also intensifying training courses about fundamentals of home care for the disabled. In this regard, Mr. Khalid Abu Zaid affirmed that the Center will continue searching for providing as much as they can of aiding equipments and medical materials, despite the problems of donation shortage the Center faces. He also promised to continue the training courses for the families of the disabled.
