::: The Home Care Program :::

 

Introduction :

Problem of the disabled people has become a very arduous burden in the Palestinian community since they represent 120.000 ; 75% of them are under 18 years , 55% are under 12 years, and 60% of the children are suffering from amputation or paralysis. Some of them were injured by the internationally banded weapons, whereas this segment of experience pathetic conditions due to being marginalized , and to the ongoing obstacles that prevents their traveling for medicine abroad in the absence of the sizable shortage of services provided in the Palestinian hospitals to injured people, and to the disabled people in particular. More over, people feel oppressed  for their lost rights, and for their inability to sustain their independents' needs because of the hard economic circumstances brought about the inequitable  siege imposed of the Palestinian people.

Summary of The project:

The project includes providing medical and psychological services to 100 physically disabled people of the critical cases, particularly quadriplegia , and paraplegia at home. The target group shall receive medical care , especially nursing services physiotherapy services, and psychological support for them and for their families. The services are provided by a well-trained medical team, including ( a physician, a physiotherapist, a psychologist, and a socialist). Also, beneficiaries will be provided with the needed medical requirements essential for dressing of bedsores.

It's worthy to mention that the medical team will train the families of the disabled people on the basics of the home care in an effect to make them able to serve their disabled independents after the team finishes its work that will help prevent any health complications.

Objectives:

* Contributing in rehabilitating the physically disabled people medically, and psychologically in preparation of integrating them into the society.

* Working on training the families on the basics of home care.

The Northern Governorate ( Beitlahia- Beithanoun –Jabalya)

100 critical cases of the physically disabled ( Paraplegia , and quadriplegia)
